Both devices are network players which functionalities are similar : DLNA network players, high quality streaming services on-board, Ethernet and Wi-Fi connections. Their electronics and power supplies are different, and Le Streamer can be considered as more performant than DSS 2.
Le Streamer integrates several digital outputs : S/PDIF, AES EBU, and I²S via HDMI, which makes it compatible with all converters. But the perfect pairing will be with Le DAC 2!
The choice will be depending on the level of your audio system, since the performances of the 2 devices are so close that only a good level system will be able to reaveal the differences. In absolute, the separate box and high electronic level of Le Streamer will give much better results.
